Emmi Nieminen (b. 1988) is a Helsinki born, Tampere based illustrator and comics artist from Finland. Her works typically have themes such as the difficulty of human connection, our ability and inability to coexist with other species and the ridiculousness of the mundane, every day life.

According to Nieminen, existence is chaos and when we dare not shield our eyes from it, we may catch a glimpse of something funny, breathtaking and monstrous.

Alongside her independent work, Nieminen has worked with magazines, non-fiction writers and publishers, symphony orchestras, comics festivals, public libraries and theaters.
